Football’s world governing body FIFA has announced that top German police chief Ralf Mutschke will become the organisation’s new Director of Security from the start of June.

The news received a qualified welcome from the European Sports Security Association (ESSA), the licensed betting industry’s integrity body which has information sharing agreements with a number of sports governing bodies, including FIFA.
