PokerStars has appointed former European Poker Tour executive host Lee Jones to the newly created role of head of poker communications.
Reporting to head of corporate communications Eric Hollreiser, Jones will serve as the company’s spokesperson on poker issues for internal and external audiences.
PokerStars said that Jones’ deep knowledge, experience and love of poker will ensure that the company is able to continue communicating about poker in an authentic and people-focused manner.
“Lee has been a long-time poker evangelist and there are few people in the industry who can match his passion, knowledge and experience,” said Hollreiser. “In this role, Lee will focus full-time on using his knowledge and experience to engage audiences in forums, media, events, blogs and internally, infusing in all of us his passion and love for the game.”
Jones joined PokerStars in 2003, serving as poker room manager and as executive host of the European Poker Tour before most recently managing the launch of Home Games and PokerStars’ newly launched Facebook social game.
“I love poker, and I love being part of the broader poker community,” said Jones. “This new role will allow me to serve as the community’s representative to PokerStars, as well as PokerStars’ representative to the poker community.”
