Gaming systems compliance testing house NMi has appointed Richard D'Souza as managing director of NMi Gaming North America as the company continues its strategy of expansion into new markets.
D'Souza brings with him experience working as a senior security consultant for NMi following similar posts in an independent capacity and with another leading approved testing facility.
Andrew Rosewarne, director of NMi Gaming, said: “We are delighted to have been able to appoint Richard d'Souza to the post of Managing Director in North America. Richard has a wealth of experience working in gaming compliance in both Europe and North America and is well known to the industry.
“His knowledge of Information Security will bolster an already strong NMi team and allow us to continue to provide a first class service to our customers wherever they operate.”
The appointment follows the opening of a new office in Vancouver, Canada, which Rosewarne said would be able to offer local expertise and a convenient time zone for development teams based in the Americas.
“The combination of high quality local talent and proximity to our existing customers and major gaming markets was very attractive to us,” said Rosewarne. “We are confident that if we extend the customer experience here the trend will continue in North America and Richard and his team will grow in the same way as our other operations.”
NMi managing director Arjan van Breukelen said that the opening of NMi Gaming North America was confirmation of the company’s commitment to the gaming industry.
“The confidence NMi provides to regulators and consumers in the gaming sector is typical of what we offer in all the industries in which we operate,” he said. “North America is a growth area in the gaming and i-Gaming sectors, and with the opening of this office NMi is perfectly positioned to play a significant role as the market evolves.”
Following his appointment, D'souza said: “It was the customer service ethos of NMi that persuaded me to accept this challenging post. There is an appetite for more choice in the North American compliance market and having a high quality, well established brand like NMi enter the market will certainly offer customers another option.”
