UK-listed gaming operator Betfair has hired Gary Wimbrige to serve as its new global head of ecommerce, with the former head of SkyVegas replacing Tamsin Todd in the role.

Wimbridge joins from IT and cloud computing specialists Aditi Technologies, where he has worked since January as senior manager for client services after leaving Sky. 

At Sky he served as head of SkyVegas, leading the operator’s multi-platform casino strategy from concept, and the development of the HTML5, iOS optimised casino app. He also previously served as the company’s casino production manager, responsible for delivering the Sky Vegas concept, and serving as its brand ambassador.

Wimbridge's CV also includes spells as an account manager at GTECH, games operations manager at Paddy Power, and product executive at Ladbrokes.

He replaces Tamsin Todd in the role, who has left Betfair to become managing director of skiing holiday travel agent Crystal Ski Holidays, a subsidiary of TUI Travel plc.
