Lottery and gaming supplier GTECH has appointed Colin Hadden as chief operating officer and general manager of GTECH Indiana, the integrated services provider for the Indiana (Hoosier) Lottery.
Hadden succeeds Connie Laverty O’Connor, who served as GTECH Indiana’s interim CEO and was recently promoted to senior vice president and chief customer officer for GTECH Americas.
Hadden will be responsible for the day-to-day operations for GTECH Indiana in the delivery of integrated services to the Hoosier Lottery. O’Connor will continue to support Indiana and other GTECH customers with their sales, marketing, and retail business strategies.
“Colin’s depth of business knowledge and industry experience makes him an outstanding choice for Indiana,” said Marco Tasso, senior vice president of GTECH’s lottery management services division. “In his new position, Colin will oversee the development of GTECH Indiana’s annual strategic business plan to ensure that we consistently meet customer expectations, and that our resources are appropriately allocated and aligned to optimally deliver our net income commitments for the Hoosier Lottery.”
Hadden has more than twenty years of sales and business experience, and most recently served as regional VP, leading GTECH’s partnership with the UK National Lottery, with prior experience working with customers in Finland, Denmark, Ireland and South Africa.
GTECH won the contract to become the integrated services provider of the Hoosier Lottery in October 2012. In addition to the Hoosier Lottery, GTECH currently has lottery management partnerships in Illinois and New Jersey.
In related news, GTECH has revealed that it is powering a new daily geolottery game for Finland’s state-owned gaming operator Veikkaus.
Lunched earlier this month, the Naapurit game has been created by Swedish lottery supplier Genera Networks and is powered by GTECH’s Proxilotto functionality which operates within the company’s Enterprise Series lottery central system.
“Veikkaus’ decision to use GTECH-developed Proxilotto technology as the engine behind its new geolottery game demonstrates its trust in the integrity and functionality of our solutions,” said GTECH International SVP and chief operating officer EMEA Declan Harkin. “This exciting new game reaffirms Veikkaus’ position as one of the world’s most successful lottery operators, and will help to sustain and grow its gaming program, which ultimately benefits all Finns.”
Veikkaus utilises GTECH’s Proxilotto software as part of a five-year contract signed in 2012, which extended GTECH’s original 2004 agreement to provide operational and professional services to support the lottery’s continued development of new games and sales channels. Veikkaus has been a GTECH customer since 1989.
