Virtual sports and video lottery games developer Inspired Gaming Group has agreed a partnership with Ian Livingstone, co-founder of tabletop wargames publisher Games Workshop, to develop new game concepts.

Livingstone is described by Inspired as one of the founding fathers of the UK games industry. As well as co-founding Games Workshop he has also co-authored the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series and served as CEO of videogames publisher Eidos Interactive, with the popular Tom Raider series launched under his stewardship.

Livingstone's work has seen him win many awards, including a special BAFTA award, and he was made a Commander of the British Empire for services to the video games industry in 2013.

Inspired chief executive Luke Alvarez said the partnership would see Livingstone work with the company to develop concepts focused on leveraging the convergence between console and mobile gaming and gambling.

“I am both personally and professionally excited to be working with Ian Livingstone,” Alvarez added. “We have some great ideas in the pipeline and we look forward to launching these hit games together.”

Livingstone praised the vision and ambition of Alvarez and the Inspired team.

“This is a new design challenge for me, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with Inspired on new projects, applying video game mechanics and gameplay to server-based gaming products,” he said.
