Nikos Kryvossidis has stepped down from his role as OpenBet's senior vice president of sportsbook and casino operations to take on a new position as chief technology officer of Camelot Global Services, the B2B division of UK National Lottery operator Camelot.

In his new role, which begins in April, Kryvossidis will take responsibility for formulating and executing a technology strategy designed to allow the business to expand globally. He will report directly to Camelot Global chief executive Nigel Railton.

Kryvossidis will also manage and maintain the company’s relationship with the UK National Lottery operator and operating division, Camelot UK Lotteries Ltd (CUKL), to help deliver its technology strategy and oversee the roll-out of new products.

The company said that Kryvossidis’ experience would help Camelot Global continue to develop and deliver technology to lottery owners and operators, while his experience working with international companies would aid global expansion.

“Having someone of Nikos’s experience and reputation is a great asset for Camelot Global,” said Railton. “Nikos has great expertise, not only in all technical aspects of our industry but in working for a global organisation.

“These attributes are of particular relevance to Camelot Global as we grow and develop internationally,” he explained.

Kryvossidis has spent the past three and a half years with OpenBet as senior vice president of sportsbook and casino. Before entering the gambling sector, he worked for internet giant Google, as the company’s director of content and commerce partnerships, and has also held roles with telecommunications business Alcatel-Lucent and mobile operating platform developer Symbian.

Commenting on his new role, Kryvossidis said: "Camelot Global is well known in the lottery industry for offering its clients the very best strategic advice, managed service solutions and now industry-leading technology following the launch of the Camelot iLottery platform.

"As Camelot Global grows, it is imperative that we continue to innovate and lead the market, and I look forward to using my experience to help in that process."
