UK bookmaker William Hill has announced that its chief financial officer Neil Cooper has decided to leave his role after more than five years with the operator, with the search for his successor now set to begin.

Cooper is to leave to take over as CFO of UK-listed residential property development company Barratt Homes. His contract has a twelve month notice period, though his exact departure date will be confirmed in due course, and he will continue with his existing responsibilities in the meantime.

He leaves William Hill having served as CFO of the company since May 2010, after joining from another property development company, Bovis Homes Group, where he served as financial director during the credit crunch between 2007 and 2010.
