Live casino specialist Evolution Gaming has recruited David Craelius as its new chief technology officer, joining the supplier’s management team from next week.

Craelius has experience working in a range of technology companies, most recently serving as chief executive of text analytics solutions provider Gavagai.

He has also served as CTO of Swedish ecommerce business Klarna, head of banking for stockbroker Avanza and chief information officer of financial services business Nordnet.

“Evolution’s live casino delivers an outstanding customer experience, and I see great potential to further develop its winning concept,” Craelius said of his new employer. “Evolution has composed a great team and I am honoured to be part of creating the casino experience of the future.”

Evolution chief executive Jens von Bahr said he aimed to recruit the best possible people to his company, with Craelius’ decision to join “a feather in [its] cap.”

“He has a solid experience from working in entrepreneurial tech companies and will be a key player in our continued development,” von Bahr added.

Craelius will join Evolution’s group management team, and begins his new position on January 18th. He has bought 3,628 shares in the business in connection with his appointment.

Shares in Evolution Gaming Group AB (Co. Data) (STO:EVO) were trading at SEK265.50 per share in Stockholm earlier Friday.
