Casino operator Caesars Entertainment Corporation has appointed Hertz executive Richard Broome to lead the company’s public affairs and communications.

As executive vice president of public affairs and communications, Broome will lead all of Caesars' internal and external communications efforts, including those at the corporate center and the casino properties.

Broome was previously global head of corporate affairs and government relations at American car rental company Hertz, a role he has served since 2000. He follows former Hertz chief executive Mark Frissora, who was appointed Caesars CEO in July 2015, to the operator.

Caesars confirmed that Jan Jones Blackhurst. EVP of communications and government relations, will continue to oversee government relations and corporate responsibility.

Both Broome and Jones Blackhurst will report to Caesars president and CEO Frissora.

"As we set our sights on the next phase of growth for our company and continue to manage through the restructuring of CEOC, I am especially pleased to welcome Rich to the team," said Frissora. "Rich will help bring together the communicators across our company to deliver a consistent and relevant message to our customers, colleagues, partners and investors.

"Rich's appointment will allow Jan to devote more of her time to advancing our various government relations and corporate responsibility efforts," Frissora continued. "Jan contributes tirelessly to Caesars, and her continued leadership on these initiatives is important to our continued success there."

Shares in Caesars Entertainment Corporation (Co. Data) (NASDAQ:CZR) closed at $6.49 per share in New York Tuesday.
