Live casino specalist Evolution Gaming has appointed Jacob Kaplan as its new chief financial officer, replacing Fredrik Svederman who is to leave the company to pursue new challenges later this year.

Kaplan joins from Scandinavian savings and investments bank Nordnet, where he has served as CFO since 2010.

He has more than 10 years' experience in the financial sector, having previously served as finance director of Nordic transaction services for NASDAQ OMX and a senior consultant at Ernst & Young Management Consulting.

He will begin his new role no later than December 1st this year with outgoing CFO Fredrik Svederman yet to finalise a departure date.

Evolution said that Svederman will leave the business in the autumn for "new challenges", having joined the supplier in 2010,  but will remain in place until Kaplan begins his employment.

"During his years with Evolution, Fredrik has contributed greatly in our development to a leading live casino provider with operations all over Europe," Evolution chief executive Jens von Bahr said. "I and the whole company would like to thank him for his contributions and wish him best of luck in his future challenges.

"We also welcome Jacob Kaplan to the group. With his experience from an entrepreneurial and public environment, Jacob is a perfect match with the needs of Evolution and is recruited in a phase when we are preparing the company for a move to the main list of the exchange," von Bahr added.

Shares in Evolution Gaming Group AB (Co. Data) (STO:EVO) were trading at SEK289.00 per share in Stockholm earlier Friday.
