Denmark’s former monopoly operator Danske Spil has confirmed that its CEO Hans Madsen will be stepping down next year after 12 years in the role.

Madsen will leave Danske Spil on April 1st 2017, having joined the company in January 2005 when it was known as Dansk Tipstjeneste.

Danske Spil chairman Peter Gæmelke said that the company had undergone a significant transformation during Madsen’s charge, from a state-owned monopoly operator to a competitive company following the re-regulation of the market at the beginning of 2012.
