Gaming solutions giant Playtech has appointed Claire Milne as an independent non-executive director of the business with immediate effect.

In her new role on Playtech’s board Milne will join the company’s Remuneration, Risk and Compliance, Audit and Nominations Committees.

Milne is described as a recognised industry expert in iGaming and technology law and regulation, with more than 20 years’ experience advising gaming and financial services clients as an in-house and private practice lawyer.

She is currently a partner and team leader of the intellectual property and science and technology teams for offshore Isle of Man-based law firm Appleby.

Milne has spent the past decade working for Appleby, also holding the position of chair of the Isle of Man Gaming Supervision Commission for five years of this time, between 2007 and 2012.

Milne previously served as a partner of Scottish law firm Thorntons for seven years.

She will join chairman Alan Jackson, chief executive Mor Weizer and chief financial officer Ron Hoffman on Playtech’s board, alongside senior non-executive director Andrew Thomas, and non-executive directors John Jackson and Paul Hewitt.

Shares in Playtech plc (Co.Data) (LSE:PTEC) were trading up 0.25 per cent at 788.00 pence per share in London earlier Friday.
