Cherry’s Yggdrasil Gaming has poached finance professional Frida Gustafson from NetEnt to serve as its new chief financial officer.

The appointment of a new finance chief is the latest executive hire in Yggdrasil’s ongoing recruitment drive which has seen the company expand from 25 employees to more than 65 over the past year.

This drive has already seen the supplier significantly enlarge its Malta office and global technology centre in Poland, as well as developing a new commercial operation in Gibraltar.

Gustafsson joins Yggdrasil from supplier NetEnt, where she spent six years in a number of roles, most recently as finance manager for tax and new markets. She previously worked as an auditor for Deloitte Sweden.

In her new position Gustafsson will be based at Yggdrasil’s headquarters in Malta.

Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, said: “As Yggdrasil grows, it is important we assemble a world-class team of executives and Frida is one of the sharpest financial minds in gaming. She will be a huge asset as we continue to expand as a company.”

“I am delighted to be joining Yggdrasil at such an exciting time,” Gustafsson said of her appointment. “Everyone in our industry knows about Yggdrasil, and from what I’ve seen already there is an opportunity for massive growth over the coming years. I look forward to being a part of the company’s ongoing success story.”
