Rank Group has confirmed that it remains on the hunt for a new managing director for its online and land-based Grosvenor Casinos business, after the incumbent Mark Jones departed following seven years with the operator.

Jones left earlier this year having served as managing director of Grosvenor Casinos since October 2014, having also held responsibility for the brand’s iGaming offering.

He has worked for Rank since 2009, joining as managing director of the operator’s bingo division with oversight of the company’s retail and digital Mecca brand, and the Spanish-facing Enracha.

Between May 2015 and June this year he also served as non-executive chairman of the UK casino sector’s trade association, the National Casino Forum.

Jones has a long career heading up high-profile hospitality and leisure brands, including serving as chief executive of the UK arm of popular restaurant and delivery chain Pizza Hut; pub chain Yates Group plc and Premium Bars and Restaurants, a pub operator in North East England.

He stepped down from his role at the end of the company’s 2015/16 financial year to take charge of Goals Soccer Centres, a business that owns a range of five-a-side football pitches across the UK.

The search for his successor is ongoing.
