Swedish gambling regulator Lotteriinspektionen has seen its budget increase by 37 per cent as it prepares to accept iGaming license applications.
The Swedish government said that the increased funding is necessary to enable the regulator to fulfil its expanded duties under the new Gambling Act, which comes into force on January 1st, 2019.
The regulator's budget will climb from the current level of SEK51.0m to SEK70.0m for the 2018 financial year.
