Leon Thomas has taken up a new position at IWG, becoming the online instant win games developer's new chief commercial officer.

An experienced iGaming professional who has spent more than 10 years in the industry, Thomas joins having most recently served as chief operating officer for Rank Group's Mecca Digital brand, a client of IWG. 

"We are very pleased to welcome Leon to the team here at IWG," IWG chief executive Rhydian Fisher said. "He has succeeded in our industry for many years now and the experience he brings will be invaluable to the future success of our company as we continue to grow into the wider commercial sector."

In Thomas' new role he will be based in IWG's London office, with responsibility for growing the company's industry position as well as building upon and creating partnerships with lotteries and commercial gaming brands.

"I am really excited to be taking the commercial reins at IWG, and look forward to helping to grow what is already a highly successful supplier in a fast-growing vertical within the industry," Thomas said of his new role. "My previous experience makes this a perfect fit and I look forward to helping IWG cement its position as the world leader in instant win gaming."

In recent years Thomas has served as managing director of US operations for NYX Gaming Group, and vice president and general manager of regulated online gaming for Caesars Interactive. He was also MD for bingo operator tombola between 2011 and 2014, which followed five years as director of regulatory compliance for PartyGaming.
