US publisher and online horse racing betting provider Sports Information Group (SIG) has appointed former Ladbrokes chief executive Richard Glynn to its board of directors.
SIG has brought in Glynn to provide "expert oversight" as it looks to pursue initiatives to drive online growth across its flagship Daily Racing Form platform and other brands, and maintain its leading position in the horse racing sector.
Glynn currently works for Alinsky Partners, a consultancy he founded to work with management teams, financial institutions and investors to enhance business performance and value. He spent five years as CEO of Ladbrokes between 2010 and 2015, and previously served as CEO of spread betting specialist Sporting Index.
"We are pleased to welcome Richard to the SIG board," said SIG's newly appointed chairman James Zenni. "Richard brings to SIG a wealth of executive experience and deep knowledge of the digital media, sports betting and gaming industries."
Best known for its Daily Racing Form publication and DRF Bets advanced deposit wagering platform, SIG was acquired last month by private equity investor Z Capital Group, where Zenni also serves as founder and CEO.
"SIG is widely regarded as a leader in multi-channel media with an exciting growth trajectory, and I am honored to join the board," Glynn said. "I look forward to working with my fellow directors and the management team to continue advancing the company’s digital strategy and capitalize on the compelling opportunities ahead."
