Toronto-listed Global Daily Fantasy Sports has brought in former NYX chief technology officer Slava Azienshtat as it receives certification to offer its platform in Italy and the UK.
The B2B daily fantasy network provider has appointed Azienshtat as its new CTO, his first role since leaving NYX Gaming Group in May this year.
Prior to NYX he served as vice president of development for Amaya, and director of development at Cryptologic.
"I am very excited to join Global and the fast paced dynamic industry of the daily fantasy sports," Azienshtat commented. "I'm confident my experience in software development of iGaming solutions for regulated markets will help the company become a leading B2B daily fantasy sports provider in markets we pursue."
Azienshtat previously worked with Global Daily Fantasy Sports chief executive Darcy Krogh at both Amaya and NYX.
"I have known and worked with Slava for several years and I am delighted he has agreed to join the Global team," Krogh said. "He has a wealth of technical knowledge and skills relating to platform and scalable real time transactional systems.
"I consider him an industry veteran in the iGaming space and look forward to working together and building a strong technical team under his direction."
Azienshtat joins the business as it secures platform certification from Gaming Laboratories International, allowing it to roll out its European Football, European Golf and PGA Golf products in the UK and Italian markets. It has already secured partnerships with Lottomatica and Sisal in Italy.
"This is a key milestone in our company's journey as we transition from pure development stage to operations," Krogh added. "The team is excited to get started with the new football season and the GLI platform certification provides us the necessary accreditation to launch our first network in Italy with two great partners in Lottomatica and Sisal."
