Vancouver-based Global Daily Fantasy Sports (GDFS) has appointed former Amaya vice president Paul Dever as its new chief financial officer and company secretary.
Dever served as vice president of finance for Amaya Gaming's online B2B businesses for five years, having previously worked as group corporate controller for CryptoLogic, one of the companies acquired to form the B2B arm.
He joins a number of Amaya alumni at GDFS. Its chief executive Darcy Krogh was a co-founder of Chartwell Technologies, and worked for Amaya following its acquisition of the supplier, while CTO Slava Azienshtat worked with Dever at both CryptoLogic and Amaya.
As a result of Dever's appointment, GDFS' existing CFO and corporate secretary Harvey Lim has tendered his resignation.
"We are pleased to welcome Paul to the team and look forward to him providing his extensive iGaming experience to our financial team," Krogh said. "I would also like to personally thank Harvey on behalf of the Company for his financial stewardship up to this point and wish him well in his future endeavors."
Dever commented following his appointment: "Global has a very exciting product in an industry with tremendous opportunity. I'm looking forward to contributing to the future success of the company and working with Darcy again, and the experienced team he has assembled."
