Stockholm-listed gaming operator LeoVegas has strengthened its marketing team with the appointment of a new communication director and two marketing directors.

Irena Busic joins the company as communications director of LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group, assuming overall responsibility for public relations and internal communications. She assumed the new role on October 15th, having previously served as head of global PR and communications at Hyper Island.

“LeoVegas is in an interesting stage right now. The much-needed upcoming regulation of the gaming market here in Sweden will lead to better transparency and a bigger need for communication,” Busic commented.

“The need to tell our story and who we are is becoming increasingly important while we also have a vision to change the perception to the industry,” LeoVegas chief executive Gustaf Hagman added. “Irena’s broad experience will make her an important asset for the Group.”

The company has also restructured its marketing leadership following the appointment of Louise Nylén as deputy CEO. Nylén’s former position as chief marketing officer has been eliminated, with its duties split between two Malta-based marketing directors.

Petra Blixt, previously head of acquisitions at LeoVegas, assumes one of the positions with overarching responsibility for all of LeoVegas’ online marketing activities, while Claes af Burén joins from DamnGoodAgency to assume responsibility for the LeoVegas brand and related creative work.

“I have a very positive view of our work on strengthening our marketing department and leadership with these two great people,” said Nylén. “With this change we have more clearly defined the responsibilities in marketing and have added brand-building expertise, which gives us even better opportunities for sustainable growth.”

Shares in LeoVegas AB (STO:LEO) were trading up 6.34 per cent at SEK51.30 per share in Stockholm Tuesday morning.
