New York-listed lottery and gaming supplier International Game Technology (IGT) has formally appointed Lorenzo Pellicioli as the company’s new chairman.

Pellicioli has been acting chairman of IGT since the departure of Phil Satre in August to Wynn Resorts, having previously served as vice chairman since April 2015.

Prior to that, Pellicioli served on the GTECH (formerly Lottomatica Group) board as chairman from August 2006 and has served as CEO of Italy’s De Agostini since November 2005.

"I am honored to serve as chairperson for IGT and I look forward to working with the directors and senior management to guide continued success in the future,” said Pellicioli.

IGT’s board has also appointed James McCann as vice chairman and lead independent director.

McCann has served on the company’s board since April 2015 and is currently chair of the board's Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Shares in International Game Technology plc (NSQ:IGT) closed down 2.32 per cent at $15.61 per share in New York Friday.
