Quickspin co-founder and chief product officer Joachim Timmermans has announced his departure from the company.

Timmermans co-founded Quickspin with Daniel Lindberg and Mats Westerlund in September 2011, and has served as the slot supplier’s chief product officer for more than seven years.

Prior to co-founding Quickspin, which was acquired by Playtech in May 2016, Timmermans spent nearly six years as head of casino and games at Unibet.

“The company is doing great, we're growing healthily in both revenues and people,” Timmermans said in a statement. “I do however feel that my part has been played, so it's time to move on.

“I wanted to express my gratitude and recognize some people that have made these amazing years possible. Obviously this means foremost everyone working at Quickspin now and in the past years; thank you for your commitment and passion to make QS what it is.”

Timmermans noted that in the supplier’s early days, the company was “lucky to ride the success” of Mirrorball Slots on Facebook through a partnership with social casino operator Plumbee.

“Thanks for a great partnership Raf Keustermans, Jodi Moran and Gerald Tan, I personally learned a lot from the social side and enjoyed it very much to work so closely with all of you and everyone else at Plumbee,” he said.

“Another milestone in our journey was the relationship with Relax. We needed a platform, they needed customers; we formed the perfect match. Thanks Daniel Eskola for setting up this relationship and Patrik Österåker for the support all these years.

“Thanks to all operators who believed in us and supported us over the years, and thanks to all players that have enjoyed our games,” Timmermans concluded.
