The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has appointed David Fan as its new executive director of finance.

Fan will assume his new role on Monday January 14th, replacing Angus Lee who is retiring from the company later this year, having been with HKJC since August 2011.

Fan will also join the club’s management board, reporting directly to chief executive Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.

He assumes overall responsibility for HKJC’s financial performance and the club’s investment portfolio, as well as leading the strategic procurement, contract management and transport and logistics functions.

Fan previously served for seven years at Microsoft, most recently as chief financial officer of Microsoft Asia, prior to which he served as CFO of Nortel Networks in Canada, the US, Hong Kong and China.
