Australian betting and gaming operator Tabcorp Holdings has appointed Adam Newman as its new chief financial officer.

Newman commences his new role in early October, joining Tabcorp from Sydney-listed energy company AusNet, where he has served as CFO since 2013.

His previous experience includes senior leadership roles at steel manufacturer BlueScope in Australia and the United States.

Newman replaces Damien Johnston, who has served as Tabcorp CFO since 2011 and remains with the business for a short transition period.

“Following an extensive search I am very pleased that Adam Newman will join Tabcorp as chief financial officer,” said Tabcorp managing director and CEO David Attenborough. “Adam brings deep experience in finance and operational leadership roles in complex environments.”

Shares in Tabcorp Holdings Limited (ASX:TAH) closed up 0.22 per cent at AUD$4.55 per share in Sydney Wednesday.
