New York-listed International Game Technology (IGT) has strengthened its board with the appointment of Samantha Ravich as an independent director.
Ravich joins the board with immediate effect and has also been appointed to IGT's nominating and corporate governance committees.
She is an experienced security and technology entrepreneur and advisor and currently chairs the Washington DC-based Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and its Transformative Cyber Innovation Lab.
Ravich is also vice chair of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board; a Commissioner on the Congressionally-mandated Cyberspace Solarium Commission; and a member of the Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board.
"Samantha's extensive experience, and focus on cybersecurity, are welcome complements to the existing expertise of our board members," said IGT chairman Lorenzo Pellicioli. "We look forward to working with her."
Shares in International Game Technology plc (NSQ:IGT) closed in New York Wednesday down 4.09 per cent at $13.35 per share.
