London-listed gaming operator 888 Holdings has expanded its board with the appointment of Mark Summerfield as an independent non-executive director.

Summerfield will also serve on the company’s audit committee as chair, alongside independent non-executive directors Zvika Zivlin and Anne de Kerckhove.

"With his extensive experience working with boards and audit committees of major listed companies, Mark brings a wealth of experience to 888,” said chairman Brian Mattingley.

“This will be of considerable benefit as the company continues to grow and pursue its strategic objectives. He will be a valuable addition to the board and the audit committee and I am delighted that he has agreed to join us."

Summerfield is a chartered accountant who has worked for KPMG in the United Kingdom and United States for 29 years, including 18 years as partner. His previous roles include global head of gaming and UK head of audit for technology, media and telecoms. He also previously served as chief financial officer at William Hill.

Shares in 888 Holdings plc (LSE:888) were trading down 0.30 per cent at 166.10 pence per share in London Monday morning.
