Sydney-listed gaming supplier Ainsworth Game Technology has named former chief executive Danny Gladstone as the company’s new chairman.

Gladstone will take over from incumbent chairman Graeme Campbell at the conclusion of the company’s Annual General Meeting in November.

Having served as Ainsworth CEO since February 2007, Gladstone stepped down at the end of June and was replaced by Novomatic executive Lawrence Levy.

“We are pleased to welcome Danny to his new position as chairman of AGT following the AGM,” Levy said. “This appointment provides us with a greater ability to utilise Danny’s vast industry experience and strong customer relationships. I look forward to working closely with him to drive future growth and profitability.”

Campbell has served as chairman since September 2007 and will now take on a new role as lead independent director.

“We are also reinstating the role of lead independent director,” continued Levy. “This recognises the importance of governance and independence in ensuring the board operates effectively.

“Graeme will provide leadership to the independent directors, and advise the board on matters where there may be an actual or perceived conflict of interest. We appreciate Graeme’s much valued contribution to AGT and we look forward to working with him in this role.”

Shares in Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd (ASX:AGI) closed unchanged at AUD$0.775 per share in Sydney Tuesday.
