EC receives notification of new German Gaming Act

Germany has taken a step closer to the possible liberalisation of its gaming market after the state of Schleswig-Holstein submitted a draft Gaming Act to the European Commission which could serve as a blueprint for regulation at a national level.

The proposed Gaming Act, which is now subject to a three month standstill period, was notified to the European Commission on February 9th. If adopted, the new Act will come into force on January 1st 2012.
