Following investigations into suspicious betting allegations relating to an Australian National Rugby League match (NRL) last year, the New South Wales Police Casino and Racing Investigation Unit have laid charges against two men involved in the sport, former player John Elias and player manager Sam Ayoub.
Both Elias and Ayoub have each been charged with attempting to obtain financial advantage by deception and granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on April 7th.
