The Hungarian government has notified the European Commission of draft amendments to its gambling and fiscal legislation that will require operators to be locally licensed in order to offer online sports betting and casino games.
The amendments seeks to introduce a local licensing and monitoring regime for state-controlled and private operators of sports betting (including betting exchanges), card games and casino games which are provided remotely.
