Former bwin executive Bo Wänghammar has been appointed chief executive of online casino operator Mr Green as part of a management reshuffle, with Marcus Nylén moving over to become CEO of the newly launched mobile casino Garbo.com.

Wänghammar joins from online glasses and contact lens retailer Lensway, where he has served as chief executive since April 2010.

Before joining the ecommerce business he spent 3 years at bwin, first as manager for the operator’s projects portfolio before heading up the company's B2C operations.

Commenting on Wänghammar’s appointment, Mikael Pawlo, CEO of the operator’s parent company Mr Green & Co AB, said that he was “the right person to lead the work of developing Mr Green’s already strong position.”

Nylén moves over to become chief executive of Garbo.com, the mobile casino founded by Pawlo, in which Mr Green & Co AB holds an option to acquire.

He joined the business in February last year to take over from Pawlo as chief executive of the operator, having previously headed up private equity firms and worked for telecommunications businesses and internet service providers.

Pawlo said he was delighted that Nylén had agreed to take charge of Garbo at a time when the company is preparing to launch internationally.

“Marcus has long experience of corporate start-ups and has valuable expertise about the industry from his time as CEO of the online casino Mr Green,” he explained.

Shares in Mr Green & Co AB (Co. Data) (XSAT:MRG) have declined 0.77 per cent to SEK38.60 per share in Stockholm as of 10:56 CET this morning, down 30 per cent from its post-IPO high of SEK54.75 per share.
