Belgian authorities target players in fight against illegal operators

The Belgian Gaming Commission (BGC) is to strengthen its efforts to drive unlicensed operators from the country’s iGaming market by targeting customers playing on such sites.

The country’s updated Gambling Act, passed in 2011, contained legislation that allowed the regulator to prosecute players knowingly accessing illegal websites, but BGC director Peter Naessens said pursuing such individuals had not been a priority for the commission.
