Swedish regulatory authority Lotteriinspektionen has expanded its investigation into foreign betting through horse race betting provider ATG, having identified weaknesses in the company’s technology platform.
The gambling regulator’s initial investigation was sparked by an incident in September in which over SEK19m ($2.6m) in bets appeared to have been placed on a minor race by Churchill Downs’ US customers, when the race usually attracts no more than SEK50,000 in bets.
