France joins Council of Europe match-fixing convention

France has signed up to the Council of Europe’s Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions, which sets out measures to promote integrity in sporting events and stamp out corruption.

The convention was introduced last month during the Conference of European Sport Ministers when an initial 15 countries joined the convention, with France becoming the first country to join since then.
