The Romanian government has notified the European Commission of proposed amendments to its gambling legislation, following the launch of infringement proceedings by the EC late last year.
The proposed amendments to Government Emergency Ordinance No 77/2009 regarding the organisation and operation of games of chance address numerous issues, including the payment of taxes by gambling operators, online gaming payment methods, and the collection of taxes from winning players.
