Grainne Hurst has helmed GVC’s journey from the depths of the post-FOBT fallout to its bright new future as Entain.
Hurst has led her company’s responsible gambling efforts and in doing so led the industry’s efforts in this area. She has established a series of firsts – first to raise voluntary contributions for research, education and treatment of problem gambling; first to call for a whistle-to-whistle ban on advertising; and first to recruit a leading academic to audit all of the company’s operations with the aim of backing safer gambling practices with hard science.
New GVC CEO Shay Segev has rewarded Hurst with a seat on the executive committee. He knows how important she is to the company’s future. If she continues in this manner, she will be an important influence on the whole industry’s future.
