1spin4win art director Olga Bogdanova takes us behind the scenes of the provider’s visual style, reflecting on how the portfolio has evolved over five years, what makes 1spin4win’s classic slots stand out, and the creative decisions behind the anniversary release Lucky 1spin4win Hold and Win
1spin4win celebrated its fifth anniversary this year. Looking back at the company’s first games and its latest releases, how has the visual style of the portfolio evolved over these five years?
Over the past five years, 1spin4win slots have become more diverse, more creative, and more visually rich. We have also strengthened the VFX and improved the game sounds and audio direction. Today, our portfolio includes more than 200 titles — a milestone we achieved in a relatively short time thanks to the team’s well-coordinated, efficient, and united work.
At the same time, we still see our earliest slots as strong, competitive products built on years of industry experience and expertise. For us, they are both an indispensable part of our legacy and a foundation for further experimentation.
As 1spin4win continued growing in the industry, we gained a much better understanding of market and player needs. Today, we hold a confident position in the classic slot niche, and we plan to continue evolving in this direction.
1spin4win is known for classic online slots, a segment with strong competition. From an art direction perspective, what helps 1spin4win’s classic games stand out among other titles?
You are right. It is a highly competitive segment. One reason is that the market often expects classic slots to follow a fairly similar visual style. At the same time, most titles today are visually appealing, especially with AI tools now widely used by many providers and independent studios. This raises the overall visual standard and makes competition even stronger.
As a classic slot provider, 1spin4win stands out through its own original approach. We rethink classic themes and stories, giving them a fresher, more distinctive feel. A good example is Lucky Arena Hold and Win, which offers a humorous take on the familiar Ancient Roman gladiator theme without any aggression or violence.
At 1spin4win, we also place great value on each artist’s individual creative style and strengths. That influences both the visual identity of slots and the way different themes come to life. The artistic side of our games evolves together with 1spin4win itself, and you can clearly see it in our portfolio.
How would you describe the signature visual language of 1spin4win today? Are there specific colors, ideas, character types, symbols, or artistic principles that define it?
Harmony is probably the best word to describe our visual language. For us, it starts with making sure the color palette matches the slot’s theme. As you may have noticed, we often use red because it feels bright and dominant, and when paired with gold, it creates a particularly striking effect.
From there, we focus on the overall atmosphere, on symbols that can be clearly understood by players from different countries, and on characters that naturally fit the world of the game. Everything should feel consistent and work together within one clear artistic direction.
We also consciously avoid ambiguous themes. First, because we operate in the classic slots niche. Second, because we focus on themes that resonate with us personally and reflect our outlook on the world.
Over the past five years, players have seen more character-driven titles, seasonal games, branded slots, and even connected slot series in the 1spin4win portfolio. What pushed this evolution?
That is true. Over the past five years, the casino industry has reached a new level, pushing 1spin4win to keep evolving with it. It means staying flexible, regularly releasing fresh, highly competitive content that combines out-of-the-box creativity with the right balance of strong mechanics, timeless visual design, a measured use of VFX and sound effects, and lightweight performance.
This approach has already helped us extend our portfolio to more than 200 slots, positioning 1spin4win as a promising and reliable partner for business growth and collaborations.
Lucky 1spin4win Hold and Win was created to celebrate the company’s fifth anniversary and bring together recognizable characters, classic symbols, and the festive visual concept. How did the team approach the design of this anniversary slot, and how did you choose which previous games, characters, and visual references to include?
For us, this release was a rather unusual decision. Personally, I have not seen anyone create a new slot out of many previous releases. Despite its uniqueness, the idea itself felt very natural to us — in many ways, it was right there on the surface.
With this game, we wanted to celebrate 1spin4win’s first major anniversary together with our players. It also gave us a good opportunity to spread the word about the brand.
For Lucky 1spin4win Hold and Win, we selected some of our most popular titles and combined their visual materials into a single design. In the background, players can see posters of previous releases they already know well, along with our most recognizable characters and symbols, which makes the overall look brighter and more recognizable. We also tied everything together with our signature red and used fire as a visual element to add more excitement, energy, and intensity.
It was a creative experiment for our team, and we would only be happy if it also inspires someone else in the industry.
Looking ahead, where do you see 1spin4win’s visual style going next?
We want to stay true to ourselves and to the principles that shape 1spin4win today: a thoughtful approach to game development, a strong focus on classic slots, unique mechanics, and visual design that feels harmonious and consistent. We see all of this as part of 1spin4win’s steady growth.
At the same time, we plan to expand our portfolio with more creative, original themed titles. One of them will be unveiled at the upcoming SBC Summit in Lisbon. Built around a charismatic main character with a bright and memorable identity, the slot will become the centerpiece of 1spin4win’s branded stand at the event.
Another creative project will be presented at ICE in Barcelona next January. It will be a game unlike anything currently in our portfolio, and we hope it will impress both visitors to our stand and players.
That is how we want to move into the next year — with confidence and plenty of new creative ideas still ahead of us.
