SWA – Chief Scientific Officer
Chris is Chief Scientific Officer at SWA Limited, a sports data business that in 2024 pivoted into applying their cutting-edge machine learning and AI capabilities to the world of sports betting. Having become the first company to crack in-play modelling for MMA, known to be the most complex sport to model in-play due to the high number of variables that happen in a short period of time, Chris is leading the charge to apply this novel approach to team sports in 2025, which SWA claim will unlock the ‘GPT for inplay sports betting’. Chris is an honorary lecturer at UCL working with the Institute of Sport Exercise Health and the Centre for Data Intensive Science and Industry. He holds a PhD in biomechanics, a masters in Physiology and has worked as an applied practitioner in elite sport for 10 years. He has a focus on signal processing for data optimisation in machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.
