Evolution’s NOLIMIT CITY recently followed up on The Crypt, a game that immersed players in somewhat of an undead music festival.
Now, they’re once again pushing boundaries. This time, they’ve reimagined the classic arcade style, giving birth to their latest creation – Space Donkey.
Thematically, the game is fantastically crafted in both sound and art style to resemble the golden age of arcade video gaming. At its core, it’s a faceoff between the simple Monkey and an otherworldly Alien, setting the stage for an epic showdown. The provider quips “A species-confused Monkey gets visited by the beyond – but our little friend won’t be getting probed so easily.” – alluding to the game’s frantic bonus modes.
Space Donkey’s base game is comparatively straightforward – introducing the new Abduction Wilds and Hellfire features – adding an element of surprise and a healthy chunk of potential to the base game. However, it’s when players land enough scatters that the real fireworks begin – unveiling the adrenaline-pumping Hide N’ Seek and Seek N’ Destroy bonus features; a duo that cements the slot’s claim to fame.
The bonus modes are unlike what Nolimit has done before. They echo the essence of a classic video game rather than a traditional slot. Hide N’ Seek unfolds inside a fiery volcano with turn based cat-and-mouse chase between the protagonist and the alien, blowing up chests of coins along the way, along with a host of characters that can alter the contents and potential rewards. Seek N’ Destroy, as the name implies, unleashes all-out chaos. Here, the Monkey takes charge, obliterating waves of aliens while collecting their precious gold and multipliers.
Space Donkey earns its stripes as a ‘Highly Volatile’ game on Nolimit’s scale. While it doesn’t quite reach the dizzying heights of titles like Tombstone RIP, this extraterrestrial journey isn’t for the faint of heart and can definitely pack a punch – with the ‘Safe Word’ max-win feature awards players the game’s maximum theoretical payout of 14,649x the base bet!
“It was high time we paid homage to the golden age of arcade gaming – so we’ve taken those classic gameplay elements and packed them into something we’ve never done before,” said Nolimit City head of product Per Lindheimer. “With Space Donkey’s two completely different bonus modes – this game is simply out of this world.”
