Playtech has marked its entry into Alberta’s regulated iGaming market, supporting a robust roster of licensed operator partners as the province opens its regulated online gaming sector, further strengthening the group’s position across North America.
Operators will have access to Playtech’s portfolio of Casino and Live titles, featuring games that have already demonstrated strong player engagement across regulated North American markets.
These include Adventures Beyond Wonderland and Mega Fire Blaze Roulette, alongside popular Casino games such as Oink Oink Oink.
Drawing on Playtech’s extensive experience supporting operators across established jurisdictions, the launch provides a strong foundation for long-term growth and innovation as Alberta’s online gaming market continues to evolve.
Playtech chief operating officer Shimon Akad commented: “Entering Alberta’s regulated iGaming market on its first day is a significant milestone for Playtech’s North American expansion strategy. We are pleased to be supporting our partners with some of our strongest-performing content and are committed to working closely with them as the market evolves, broadening our offering and helping them deliver engaging player experiences to support their long-term success.”
The launch comes as the province opens its regulated online gaming market, which operates under a framework established by the iGaming Alberta Act and supported by AGLC’s iGaming Standards.
Charmaine Hogan, global head of government relations at Playtech, added: “Alberta has set a strong regulatory foundation for its iGaming market, and the establishment of a centralised self-exclusion system is a particularly welcome step in safeguarding players.
“Well-designed regulation, underpinned by meaningful player protection tools, is what allows regulated markets to thrive and channel players away from the black market. We will continue to work constructively with the Alberta iGaming Corporation and industry partners as the market matures.”
This development builds on Playtech’s existing presence in Canada, having first entered on the first day of market opening for the launch of Ontario’s regulated iGaming market in 2022.
