The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has opened an inquiry into Sportradar’s proposed acquisition of IMG Arena.
The CMA has launched a two-week consultation to evaluate whether the transaction will result in a substantial lessening of competition in the United Kingdom, with the consultation closing on 25 July.
The consultation forms part of the CMA’s Phase 1 assessment under the Enterprise Act 2002 and no formal investigation has been launched at this time.
Sportradar agreed a deal with Endeavor Group in March to acquire IMG ARENA and its global sports betting rights portfolio.
Shares in Sportradar Group AG (NASDAQ:SRAD) closed 2.06 per cent lower at $28.57 per share in New York Friday.
