France’s state-controlled horseracing betting operator Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has appointed Cyrille Giraudat as chief executive officer.

Giraudat will assume leadership of the betting operator in January and joins from Paris-based global real estate developer Nexity, where he currently serves as marketing and digital director.

His appointment as CEO marks a return to PMU, where he served as chief marketing and digital officer from 2004 to 2014.

PMU said that Giraudat will focus on accelerating the development and transformation of PMU and on strengthening customer satisfaction in a sustainable and responsible gaming environment.
