Australia’s Two Way Limited said that it continues to face delays as it awaits regulatory approval from two state governments for the expansion of its TAB ACTIVE interactive wagering TV service, with the company officially launching its TAB ACTIVE information service this week in Queensland and South Australia.

The service is available to viewers of all three Sky Racing channels on the FOXTEL and Optus TV platforms, and provides detailed information on all thoroughbred, harness and greyhound race meetings on which UNiTAB is conducting wagering on that day.

A full form guide is available, together with details on UNiTAB dividends, tote pools and results. The service also informs viewers which race is next being broadcast by Sky Racing, and on which channel, ensuring that viewers never miss a race. The service also includes prominent on-screen responsible gambling messages.

Two Way said however that any UNiTAB account holders will not be able to use the service to log in to their UNiTAB Telebet accounts or to place bets until government regulatory approval is granted.

“This is the first time that our interactive TV service has gone live outside NSW and Victoria,” said Ben Reichel, CEO and Managing Director of Two Way. “We are very pleased to give UNiTAB customers in Queensland and South Australia a taste of this highly convenient and easy to use wagering service.

“While we are frustrated with the extensive delays that we have experienced in offering the full betting service to UNiTAB customers, we are working patiently through the issues. We hope that punters in Queensland and South Australia will soon be able to enjoy the full service that is currently available to punters in NSW and Victoria, and which will soon be available in Western Australia.”

TAB ACTIVE was pioneered by Tabcorp, Two Way and FOXTEL, and was launched in the Australian states of Victoria and New South Wales in 2008.
