Zynga initiates cost reduction plan; staff reduced by 5%

Social gaming giant Zynga will reduce its full time workforce by 5 per cent as it looks to implement a number of structural changes which will focus the company’s resources on its most strategic opportunities.

In a note to employees outlining structural changes, Zynga founder and CEO Mark Pincus confirmed that the company would close some of its games studios, shelve some of its older games, and reduce staff levels.
