In our third feature in a series on open platforms and the problem of getting games to market, we focus on Leander Games, which has teamed up with US developer 2 by 2 Gaming and Sweden’s Quickspin to get their games directly and quickly to operators

Quickspin is just 18 months old. 2 by 2 Gaming has been in operation for only six months. Leander Games is older, founded in 2008, but like the others, it is only just making revenues. And these are no amateurs. Quickspin was founded by Net Entertainment and Unibet alumni. 2 by 2 founder Shri Joshi was one of the founding fathers of WMS and latterly its VP of global product strategy. Leander founder Ramiro Atucha brought in Realtime Gaming founder Daniel Schultz and former GTS CEO Steven Matsell as major shareholders and as chairman and CEO respectively.

In their short life spans, all three companies have released some pretty funky casino games. Quickspin partnered with Plumbee to power its Mirrorball Slots social media game to over 1m users. It followed that up with deals to provide games to Betsson, Gala, Mr Green and Unibet. 2 by 2 is already supplying games to Bally and Incredible Technologies. All have deals with GTS,  Microgaming/Quickfire or OpenBet to supply their content.
