Slots developer High 5 Games has embarked on a push to establish an Asia-facing social casino brand with the launch of Shake the Sky, described by CEO Anthony Singer as “the company's first comprehensive product for the social and mobile Asian markets.”

Shake the Sky becomes High 5’s second full casino app following the launch of High 5 Casino last year, and will offer more than 30 localised titles aiming to tap into the growing enthusiasm for slot games in the market.

It will offer a number of High 5’s slots which have been successful in the Asian land-based market including West Journey Treasure Hunt, Golden Three Kingdom and Four Great Chinese Beauties, alongside new content created specifically for the brand.

The new content will incorporate local brands and IP such as soap operas and Wuxia films, with games combining Asian themes and High 5’s patented slot features.

The offering will go live on Facebook this month, with the style and gameplay of the app based around the successful High 5 Casino offering which surpassed 1m monthly active users in January this year, having soft launched in September 2012.

The huge uptake in mobile and social gaming has so far failed to benefit the social casino sector, with players more receptive to card battle games like GungHo’s Puzzles vs. Dragons or midcore gaming titles. Even localised content, such as apps based on pachinko machines or their slot variant pachislo have failed to gain traction in the market.
