Isle of Man-based gaming operator 666Bet has ended its partnership with B2B and B2C operator Novigroup after just six months, migrating its sportsbook and casino to BetConstruct and EveryMatrix respectively.
As a result of the shift the company will now operate under an Alderney gaming licence issued to Metro Play, the former iGaming arm of the free daily newspaper Metro, which was acquiredby 666Bet in September.
The migration initially sparked concern among players after Novigroup emailed customers to say that the site has been shut down and that funds would be returned to players. However, 666Bet quickly responded by stating that the shut-down was only temporary and that customer funds were secure.
He said that the Novigroup platform was “quite small” and as a result had struggled to cope with the number of customers playing on the 666Bet site. However, he was unable to discuss the issue further.
Martin added that it now made sense for 666Bet to move to EveryMatrix’s casino platform and the sportsbook of BetConstruct.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with two excellent providers,” he said.
“We are now in a position where we have a bigger platform and a better, more engaging website for our players,” Martin continued. “It is our aim to become a tier one operator and we now have the platform to achieve that.”
BetConstruct chief executive Suren Khachatryan commented: “This is a major coup for us, at the end of what has been a spectacular year. Earlier this year 666Bet arrived on the UK gambling scene with an unprecedented explosion and has already proven itself to be disruptive and capable of challenging the established players”.
Khachatryan added that 666Bet’s decision to switch betting platforms was “based on their desire to achieve a large number of additional betting markets and boost their site with a new sports book layout”, and said that the Metro Play site would also migrate to the BetConstruct platform in the coming weeks.
