The Australian government has welcomed the Northern Territory Racing Commission’s decision to ban 'click-to-call' in-play betting, promising to introduce legislation to enable civil penalties to be applied against operators who breach the ban.
Minister for Human Services Alan Tudge MP reaffirmed the government's belief that the in-play service is in breach "of at least the intent of the Interactive Gambling Act".
