Gaming Realms chief executive Patrick Southon says that the licensing deals signed since the company's acquisition of the Slingo brand will push the operator to its first maiden profit in 2016, while revealing plans to relaunch a UK-facing bingo product later in the year.

Last week the operator revealed a net loss of £6.8m for 2015 and negative EBTIDA of £4.1m, though Southon is quick to preach the virtue of patience.

“We posted an EBITDA loss of around £8m in 2014 and £4m for 2015, and analysts are predicting we’re going to break even this year,” he explains. “When you start a business from scratch it takes time; you have to build a database and you’re dealing with a customer base that needs to mature, so we’re happy with where things are.”
